The buttons next to each EQ allows you to kill that specific EQ, pretty simple, and it’s a great function when you want to easily eliminate them during your mix. Torq loves EQ kills and there aren’t many Traktor controllers that support this, even though it’s a function that is built into the software. This is done in shift mode and pressing the buttons for the hot-cues that were set. Shift mode also allows you to delete your hot-cues so that they can be set at different places. Once in shift mode, you can scroll through your effects by rotating the dedicated effect knob, effects 1-3 for either decks A or B. To activate shift mode, hold down the shift button. The button is located above the EQ section and allows you to activate a second function for applicable buttons and knobs. This is nice because you don’t have to press a separate button switching to and from scratch mode, and you can easily beat match your songs by nudging them into place.Īlso not mentioned much in the video is the shift button. You can also nudge tracks using the outside of the jogs. Compared to other DJ controllers on the market, they feel pretty accurate and are activated immediately when you touch or engage them. Not mentioned in the video is how the jogwheels feel when used in Traktor Pro.

Let’s dive into how the mapping is laid out and also how you can download it for your DJing pleasure. We didn’t want to get too crazy with the mapping so adapting from Torq to Traktor or the other way around is a breeze. It keeps true to the original design of the Torq Xponent, meaning that the buttons on the Xponent control relatively the same functions in Traktor as they would in Torq 1.5 software.
The Torq Xponent has been mapped to Traktor Pro as a 2-Deck controller. Our illustrious spell-binder Ariff even provided a slick mapping for your downloading pleasure. That’s why we decided to bundle a relatively looked over, nifty controller in the Xponent with Traktor Pro 2. Serato is lobbying hard with Itch and now Intro in terms of opening up their compatibility with many other products, but let’s face it. We wholeheartedly understand that M-Audio Torq as well as Virtual DJ are relevant products in the DJ market as well, but Traktor is the most universal in terms of mapability (cosign on that word, please) and compatibility with 3rd party controllers worldwide. With great controllerism comes great responsibility…with your money. It’s definitely a good looking controller that works well with both Torq and many other DJ software. It is DC powered, with RCA main and booth outputs, MIDI in/out, with foot switch and expression pedal inputs. It is a medium sized compared to other controllers, and very lightweight with a durable plastic construction. The Xponent controller translates the software flawlessly, has massive touch sensitive jog wheels, and a super clean layout with LED backlit, rubberized pads and buttons. This mapping may not work with the latest version of Traktor.The Torq Xponent was designed specifically for use with Torq DJ software (included) and we had the opportunity to get funky with Torq a few months ago and found it to be very cool and quite intuitive.
